Romans 15:20 -- "It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation."
This is the goal that I have. I don't know what this looks like or how God desires it to be done in this ministry. But because of my desire to work among the least-reached peoples, I will be moving into an apartment in Monachil, Spain, on December 1st 2012. According to www.e-decision.org/pueblos/, Monachil is one of the towns in the Granada area that doesn't have a church/Christ-followers in it. Therefore I have prayed and decided that it is where I will spend at least my first year. The first year I will be studying spanish in order to better understand the language that I speak as well as give me classroom teaching about the culture in which I am now living. As for life in Monachil, the goal is to be present as much as possible in the town, with spiritual eyes open so I can see where God is at work. I am called to plant seeds. If I get to see one of those seeds grow and flourish then I will consider it a blessing. But my faithfulness to Christ will not waver if my only sight is that of uncultivated, untilled soil. God alone makes things grow. |
